5 Best Places to Spend Halloween Weekend in Wilmington

Whether you like to be spooked out of your mind, dress up and take the kids somewhere fun, or enjoy some Halloween night life, there are plenty of great, fun events in Wilmington this Halloween weekend!

#1   Ghost Walk of Old Wilmington

Hailed as “One of America’s Top 5 Tours” by USA Today and one of the “Top 10 Tours in the U.S.” by Trip Advisor, the Ghost Walk of Old Wilmington goes deep into the notoriously haunted houses and legendary burial grounds of this historic town. Listen to spooky tales from storytellers and professional ghost hunters. Guests can download free ghost hunting apps and take  as many pictures as they like. Who knows? You might even leave with your very own ghost story to tell.  Everyone is welcome. The tours are kid friendly and handicap accessible. Find out more here!

#2 Cape Fear Escape Room

Way better than any haunted house, WIlmington’s very first interactive escape room experience is sure to get your adrenaline pumping. You and your group will have 60 minutes to discover clues and find keys to escape the room together while keeping your mind on the task and avoiding the distractions that pop up all around you. Find out more!

#3 Haunted Pub Crawl

Even if you’re not one to believe in ghosts, the bartenders who work late into the night in old, lonely buildings downtown often tell eerie stories of odd appearances and misfit noises that can chill even the skeptics. Take this tour and enjoy a few drinks with your friends while listening to legendary pub tales of Old Wilmington. On the tour you’ll hear plenty of true stories, some funny and some spooky, while also discovering downtown Wilmington’s best local pubs.  Unfortunately, tickets for Halloween night are sold out. But the event runs from now until December 26. Tickets are $17.50 + tax. Get them while they last!

#4 Trick or Treat Under the Sea

If you’re looking for an exciting and safe place to take the kids this weekend, look no further! The Trick or Treat Under the Sea at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher offers indoor trick-or-treating, spooky scuba divers, face painting, storytelling and a haunted garden walk.
