The 4th of July is almost here, which means lots of fun, food, and of course the beach! We wanted to give you an idea of the events, festivals, and live music going on around the Cape Fear area, just in case you’re trying to make some last minute plans. Where would you rather celebrate Independence Day than here at the beach?! When we think of the 4th of July the first thing that comes to mind is FIREWORKS! You should have no trouble finding plenty of explosive entertainment in all directions this weekend.
Carolina Beach will be kicking off the holiday weekend early with live music and fireworks at their Summer Fireworks by the Sea Thursday night, July 2nd. “Southern Trouble” will kick off the festivities at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk at, playing their mix of country and southern rock starting at 6:30pm. The live music will be rocking right up until the fireworks display at 9:00pm.
After your fun-filled night in Carolina Beach, you can take all day Friday to re-energize on the sands of Wrightsville Beach. Take this opportunity to soak in some rays, or relax in the shade of Cape Fear Beach Rentals’ new personal cabanas, the Cool Cabana! If you’re in the mood for more fireworks, you can make the short trip up to Surf City Friday night for their Independence Day Fireworks show. There will be live music followed by fireworks at Surf City’s Soundside park, with music starting at 6pm and the fireworks show around 9pm.
You may want to sleep in just a little longer on Saturday morning, just to prepare yourself for the holiday activities. If your plans include a day on the sand let us know, and we’ll have one of our Resort-Style chair and umbrella sets waiting at your spot on the beach! If you have access to a boat you can take advantage of the natural preserves, Masonboro Island and Masons’ Inlet, at the Northern and Southern ends of Wrightsville Beach. If you do head to those places be sure to respect the environment, and obey the law! If you feel the need to pay it forward the folks over at Masonboro.org are always looking for volunteers to help clean up and preserve the natural beauty of these barrier islands. Once you wrap up your day time cookouts and parties, you can head towards downtown Wilmington for their annual 4th of July Celebration. The food and entertainment will start at 5pm, with “The Clams” bringing you live music at the Riverfront Park. The area’s best fireworks display will kick off at 9:05pm, and should be a great show! If you can’t make it downtown we suggest just stepping outside and enjoying the numerous amateur firework that will fill the night sky.
After all the holiday weekend activities, live music, and fireworks we’re certain you’ll spend Sunday taking advantage of some much needed rest and relaxation before making the trip home. We hope you and your family have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend, and don’t forget to rent and relax with Cape Fear Beach Rentals!
Happy Independence Day!
